FREE Fun is Even More Fun!

If you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVE FREE.  So you can imagine my excitement when I received a text message from Redbox with a FREE movie code.  The Redbox Text Club sends great rewards to your phone, including a free promo code every month! You'll also be the first to hear about special offers and members-only freebies.

As soon as I received the text, I went on line to look for a special movie to surprise the kids.  I immediately located "The Dog Who Saved Halloween" which seemed like something they would be interested in.  After all, they have been begging me to get "Spooky Buddies" which is another cheesy talking dog movie, geared for the Halloween season.  I wasted no time and went straight to my local Redbox.

Since we were already planning on having fun with a dog theme, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to visit the local no-kill animal shelter to drop off some donations.  You see, when we were packing, we came across lots of old sheets and blankets.  We used them to cushion the insides of boxes with fragile items in them.  They have since accumulated in a pile on the floor and the dog was using them as a bed.  Instead of throwing them out, I decided that other animals could use them for bedding.  So we put them in a big box, along with a big bag of Pupperoni, and headed down to the Friends for Life Animal Rescue.

We dropped off our box and had the opportunity to give and receive lovin' from a few dogs.  I, of course received a receipt valuing my donation at $10 which should reduce my taxes at the end of the year by about $2.50 (every penny counts).  While we were waiting for the receipt, I noticed a flyer for a FREE event on Saturday.  BARKtoberfest is a party in the park for adults and children to celebrate the relationships we share with our most loyal friends - DOGS!  We plan on being there at 1:00pm to watch the Gilbert Police Department K9 demonstration.  We are really looking forward to it!

Three separate things to entertain the children and you know the best part?  Mom and Dad have even more fun because it is FREE!
