Frozen Dog Treats

Do you remember my grocery store score from Saturday?  Well, that 32 oz carton of Yoplait Yogurt only cost me 50 cents.   Why am I telling you this?  Because, I thought this the perfect opportunity to make frozen dog treats or what I like to call "Frosty Paws Knockoffs".

I mean, I love my idiot dog but she doesn't get anything unless I can get it dirt cheap (much like the rest of the family).  My recipe for frozen dog treats also includes peanut butter (which I never pay more than 50 cents for), ripe banana (who doesn't have one of those?) and some kind of dog treat for a stick.  I just so happened to score three bags of Pupperoni last week for $1 per bag.

So I set to making my frozen dog treats whilst a quivering, whimpering, whining mess of a dog was under foot.  Whenever I prepare any thing for her she is like this.  Somehow she knows the different sounds and smells involved, when I am making something for her.  Whether it is my homemade dog food or the frozen dog treats, she just falls apart!

So I mixed up the ingredients......

And then prepared them in the cups......

Do you see the spills?  That is because a little fuzzy creature was weaving in and out of my legs, putting on this display of desperation as though I haven't fed her in weeks!

After dinner, they were finally ready and I made Hannah wait no longer.  In addition to a big bowl of homemade dog food, she had her desert, a frozen dog treat.

This is what becomes of a 12 lb idiot when her tummy is spoiled with homemade goodness........

You have to lay on the cold tile floor and be thankful that you don't need your stretchy pants!

I'm glad I can share, Diana. You are in Florida, right? Year round treat for your dog too?
