I Found My Literary "Chair"

I recently changed my Facebook employment status to "Aspiring Freelance Writer".  I have been writing this blog now for almost a month and am thoroughly enjoying it!  The words just keep coming to me and I have an overwhelming feeling to just keep writing.

I started thinking, since we are reinventing ourselves, maybe I will try my hand at freelance writing.  I know, I know, who doesn't want to become a freelance writer, right?  I had some good ideas for articles and I started looking into the option of submitting some.  A lot of publications won't even read your submission unless you have been published in several major publications........so where does one start?

This actually reminds me of the time, 2 years ago, when I decided I wanted to get strong enough to do pull ups.  I couldn't even do one.  NOT ONE!  How does one get strong enough to do pull ups if you can't even start by doing one?  Well, you stand on a chair with your chin up to the bar, then you kick the chair out of the way and lower yourself down slowly.  When you have lowered yourself down, you try to pull yourself back up.  When you can finally pull yourself back up, you can do one pull-up.  Suddenly, you don't need the chair anymore.  Then all it takes is persistence and before you know it you can do five!

What does this have to do with freelance writing?  I'll tell ya, I will!  I found my literary "chair".  HubPages.com is a website that allows you to publish as many articles as you want (while following a few rules and regulations).  The point is to gain a following and then eventually, the more people that read your articles, the more money you will make.  I have published three articles so far and have more ideas up my sleeve.  I published my first article yesterday and now have a total of three articles published.

I'm hoping to keep writing and eventually find another source to publish my material.  You can go to my profile if you are interested in following me or you can grab a widget if you would like to post a link on your web page or blog.
