Small Observations On A Morning Dog Walk

This morning when I went on my usual walk with the dog, I decided that I would take the time to "smell the roses".  Being that roses aren't very common in the desert, I decided to look for things of interest.

As I walked across the front desert yard, I noticed that this ugly little cactus had the most beautiful flower on it. Immediately, I realized that I had found my "rose".  However, it was too close to the ground to bend down and smell, considering all of the scurrying (lizards and scorpions) I could hear in the bush next to it.

I kept going and noticed that the grassy area across the street from our house was very long and might be a great FREE place to practice my golf swing!

Oh, never mind..........

The dog, who from here on will be called Hannah, enjoyed frolicking over the grass and then we headed down to the canal which is about an eighth of mile away.

As we entered the pathway, Hannah was overcome with excitement because she new she was going to see her friend the Poky Little Puppy.  I don't know what the dogs real name is but you can see why I call it the Poky Little Puppy.

This little guy is always poking his head through the drainage hole when we pass his backyard.  Hannah gets so excited to see him.  When the excitement is over, she very quickly pees right in front of his little hole and then kicks dirt in his face.  She is such a bitch!

As I was walking down the path, I noticed that there are these tiny little shells everywhere.  They look like seashells but how could that be possible?  Seriously folks, these shells are everywhere and must come from the canal water.

These are the small observations that I enjoyed this morning.  It made me realize that I should pay attention and take pictures more often.

I know, he is sooooo cute. I just want to pet him, but every time I put my hand near him, he disappears.

Oh my gosh! This is awesome! I love that you found such neat little things on your walk. I love the puppy, but I adore your little tease of a bitch who gets excited to see him and then pees in front of him and kicks the dirt in his face...classic! He will fall hopelessly in love with her now you know, all the boys love a bitch ;)

I'm with Dweej...take your camera everywhere and keep the cool stories coming!
